Mini Cooper S E Countryman ALL4: Britain Is Very Close

The Mini Countryman Is Price-Friendly And Magical

Everybody is gearing up for the EV car craze(at least we are). Luckily, automakers are promising not to disappoint, doing everything possible to breathe life into their prototypes.

From Britain, automaker Mini is planning to launch its first all-electric series-production model named the Mini Countryman S E ALL4. The company has touted it as heir to the throne previously occupied by others in its series such as the standard three and five-door supermini, the Convertible, the Clubman, and the Countryman.

Weight 3915 pounds, the Countryman will gather its powers from 134-hp turbocharged 1.5-liter inline-three driving for the front wheels while an 87-hp electric motor powering will help the rears wheels to roll. This combination elicits a 221 horsepower, helping the Countryman to scale from 0-60 mph in 5.8 seconds.

If you ride the Countryman on electricity alone, you cruise only 12 miles. This is rather an undoing from the 7.6-kWh power supply given that others in this league have better ratings.

It is reported that the Countryman aims at making you a better fuel-economic driver. To help him achieve this mission, the car has been fitted with an aspiration app named Mini Connected, which will collect data based on your driving habit and eventually report it back to you.

This is quite a good attempt at going high-tech. Another tech-feature is Apple CarPlay on the Touchscreen Navigation Package. You can, however, have an upgrade and get a Driver Assistance Package which gives you parking assist, active cruise control, and parking distance sensors, at $1,250.

Minis have for quite a long time attempted to be furiously practical while keeping the prices within a friendly range. The Countryman takes the game a notch higher and it will be interesting to see how it performs against competitors.
