James Bond Is Back
Vehicles featured in movie cars have a special way in which they influence motoring. This becomes even more outspoken when these cars adorn various special characteristics. James Bond remains one of the most iconic movie characters in modern history.
Its therefore not mere happenstance that the cars used in Bond movies go could make the best tea for car enthusiasts. In August 2018, Aston Martin announced that it would rebuild the iconic Aston Martin DB5 featured in all Bond movies.
There will be a limited edition with only 25 of them set to see the light of day. The best part of all this remodeling is that they are set to be exact replica of the original.
The car’s gadgets that were equipped by Q in the film will also appear in the real-life version. This includes revolving license plates and other fun tricks like that.
These gadgets will be co-developed by Chris Corbould, the Oscar-winning special effects supervisor from the James Bond movies. Officially sanctioned by Aston Martin and EON Productions, all the Goldfinger edition cars will be produced to one specification – Silver Birch paint – just like the original.
Andy Palmer, President and Chief Executive Officer, Aston Martin, said: “To own an Aston Martin has long been an aspiration for James Bond fans, but to own a Silver Birch DB5, complete with gadgets and built to the highest standards in the very same factory as the original James Bond cars? Well, that is surely the ultimate collectors’ fantasy.”
As we wait to wallow in this fantasy, it gets exciting to just think of how James Bond cars would benefit from modern technology while reminiscing the good old days.
