There is more than meets the eye on the ZR1

We have to admit that almost anytime we write about the Corvette, we get a bit jittery. There is a good measure of excitement, for indeed the Corvette is a jolly amazing car in all dimensions.

In November 2019, reliable sources intimated that indeed the Corvette is getting a very interesting build-up. Among things expected in this fantastic shift is a hybrid system that brings around an electric motor sitting between the engine and the transmission.

What this means is that output would be significantly heightened, making one the Corvette ZR1 one of the hyped-up vehicles to watch in the coming months. Engine specs haven’t been announced yet but it had been suggested that it could share the same workaholic engine from the Corvette C8. This is a 5.5-liter flat-plane engine

The other bit of elating news about the forthcoming ZR1 is that it is strictly focused on upgrading performance and not necessary gas mileage. This gives it a better chance and little competition with the likes of the Ferrari LaFerrari which has its mind well set on doing more distance on an electric charge.

The only other speculation left is to calculate the cost of the ZR1. However, going by the price of the Porsche 918 Spyder at $2 million to $4 million for the LaFerrari, it’s sure to cost a pretty penny.
