Mazda aims to excite young families the CX-90

There is a Mazda CX-3 and there is a CX-5. What are we missing? A CX-5, right? But wait a minute, it’s not even there. Instead, Mazda placed a vehicle they’ve named the CX-30 between the CX-3 and the CX-5. Well, let’s just say it fits in perfectly for the time being.

So how is the new Mazda CX-30 like?

It stands 4,395 mm long and 1,540 mm tall. It is tall short enough to maneuver excellently around town, and tall enough to enjoy the hatchback title. Perhaps it has the likes of Volkswagen T-Roc, and maybe the Honda HR-V or Toyota C-HR as its rivals. A class where the hyphen comes in handy.

The Mazda CX-30s is handed a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that is fit for 186 horsepower and up to 186 lb-ft of torque. The Mazda 3 enjoys the same engine, that is mated to a six-speed automatic. Whether it brings its performance to the level of the Mazda 3 is another debate altogether.

With an 8.8-inch screen as its standard, this Mazda is handsomely taking care of on the front. It brings along Mazda Connected Services, giving owners a variety of options in terms of the tasks they can perform.

You can lock and unlock, remote start and monitor your car with the assistance of the MyMazda app. It also comes with standard Bluetooth, two front USB inputs, and Wi-Fi hotspot capability. Other enviable features such as Apple CarPlay/Android Auto integration and SiriusXM satellite radio are also affixed.

At this point in time, there’s so much information to look forward to from Mazda. One clear thing, nonetheless is that they’ve built a good car for us and we are happy with the way things are turning out. We are closely watching this space.
