What Is The Future Of McLaren? The New Roadmap

Focusing On Electrification And A Wider Market

British automotive manufacturer McLaren in July 2018 announced an ambitious plan to launch 18 new models of hybrids by 2025. Dubbed Track25, the plan is part of the 1.2 billion euros investment.

The plan aims at making all its sports cars and supercars 100% hybrid by 2025. McLaren CEO, Mike Flewitt, says that the vehicles will retain the convenience of a traditional hybrid while introducing new and improved advantages.

Among the retained traditional tenets is the carbon-fiber engineering and as well as a mid-engine configuration. The company aims at improving its emission targets by producing hybrids while improving performance.

The current hybrid, the P1, has been hailed for enhanced improvement. With the focus now on “lighter, super fast-charging, high-power battery system,” the company has accelerated its plan for being green effective. This plan puts McLaren on a fast pace in the next seven years as it works on actualization.

It will also help to broaden its portfolio while and optimization of technology. With such a clear roadmap and a proven track record, the company is well positioned to play a part as a key global player in sportscar and supercar market.

The new plan will boost production by 75 percent, Flewitt says that they are set to include more retailers to counter the growing demand for products. “While our plan sets the direction for the next seven years to take us through to the middle of the next decade, we need to also pause and acknowledge the great effort, ingenuity, and competitive spirit of all of our incredible people on which our success, both now and in the future, rest,” says Flewitt.

The current trend in the car manufacturing industry demands organizations for the future to focus on production of vehicles that can scale above technology. As a distinguished producer of supercars, McLaren’s outlook is not only timely but also position it for speedier growth.
