A Classic Legend With A Colorful History: The Jaguar XJ22C

If You Own On Of The 275 Models, You Have A Linage To Be Proud Of

From its looks to performance, a limited edition and a history of its own path, the Jaguar XJ22C is one great possession to place in your garage. This gorgeous machine first came to the scene in the 1990s and went on to write its own story.

At some point facing disgrace after it was stripped of the GT-class title at the 1993 24 Hours of Le Mans once month after winning when regulators found that it lacked catalytic converters.
This is a car that only saw 275 examples produced. It is however not a road-legal car.

Auction house Bonhams has set one of these, which still carries its racing number 50 on it for auction in December 2018 at its Bond Street Sale. Under the hood is a 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged V-6 engine similar to the one that rides the road-going XJ220.

With a 542 horsepower and 475 pound-feet of torque, this car isn’t a bad unit to acquire for the $2.9 million or up to $3.7 million. Vehicles from yesteryear rekindle fond memories of the times they lived in.

They also help to shape the future as manufacturers make a deep analysis of what they can do better to achieve a higher performance and it will be interesting to see the kind of buyer that this vehicle will attract.
