The future is hidden in a Fisker

It’s somehow understandable that Fisker took quite some time to formally unveiled the Fisker Ocean Electric Crossover. This is no ordinary car and from what we’ve seen so far, it no doubt deserves a thumbs up.

It even took time to get an official name, which came sometimes in October 2019. Nonetheless, everything is now laid bare for the public to scrutinize, love, critic, and drive, as long as they can pull the $37,499 starting price.

The startup says that it has lined up a trio of electric vehicles to be unleashed in the next few years. The production of this particular cross over is set to commence at the beginning of the second half of 2021. This translates to most deliveries being made in 2022.

Company CEO and founder Henrik Fisker said during the debut that the car is able to cruise no less than 300 miles on a single charge, thanks to the 80 kWh battery. This and the price that would finally come to around $40,000 is certainly one of the aspects that sets the Fisker Ocean apart from luxury competitors.

Vehicles in this caliber giving the Fisker sleepless nights include the Jaguar I-Pace and Audi e-Tron, both ranging around the same price and promising quite similar specifications. The interior of the Fisker further comes down to what other rivals have lately been doing, keeping it simplistic and practical.

You find a large touchscreen (no official measurements yet) and a smaller screen that sits behind the steering wheel. This is the vehicle’s digital instrument.

But it is a set of five buttons that sit right below the larger center screen that takes all the attention of the dashboard. These are meant to allow quick access to the screen, fan speed, temperature, and audio.

Fisker further says that the Ocean should have autonomous capabilities. Although information to this end is still scarce. By the looks and functionalities of the Fisker Ocean, the futuristic approach of the company’s proposed cars is made rather clear.
