The supercar with six wheels, the Covini

When some men set out to do something outrageous, they put in their mind, body, and soul to the matter at hand. Quite often, what we get out of such thoughtful engagements are outstanding, amusing and sometimes surprisingly out-of-the-box products that change the course of history.

Sometime back in 2010, such an idea came out of the auto world in the form of a six-wheeled super named Covini. And where best for such an idea to originate than the ever rewarding Italy! The Covini C6W is a 2-seat 2-door sports coupé that was handed a removable roof, just to make it even crisper in character and abilities.

This design was inspired by a vehicle from 1976 named the Tyrrell P34. It is the smaller front wheels of the P34 that handed over the Covini its precipitous idea.

The Covini C6W came in as a prototype in 2004. Several developments down the line finally gave the world this amazingly beautiful and well-furnished supercar.

It rides a V8 engine borrowed from Audi. With its scissor doors, gracefully curved carbon fiber body, and of course lots of rolling wheels, it is bound to turn heads wherever it rolls. The interior is customized to each buyer’s specifications. It is indisputably one-of-a-kind.

Perhaps the reputation is not even more on the looks of this car but the groundbreaking technology it provides. When you think of a car that must have a convenient system to have all wheels breaking, you therein lies the gist of it. It’s just amazing.
