In the race to get a slice of the growing SUV market, every automaker is literary putting the best foot forward. The 2019 Geneva Motor Show was one of the best ways to measure progress and expectations for several months ahead.
Indian manufacturer Tata Motors came around with a premium hatchback named the Altroz. The Altroz is eyeing a market that is currently occupied by the likes of the VW Polo and Honda Jazz as well as other homegrown brands such as the Maruti Suzuki Baleno.
The Tata Altroz will come around with three engine options. One of them is the economical naturally aspirated 1.2-litre, but you can lift up the fun with a host of turbocharged petrol and diesel engines.
Tata cars such as the Harrier have done well with their sound systems over and over and the Altroz is no exception. Harman has supplied the Altroz with a 7-inch touchscreen and up top 8-speakers around the vehicle walls that is good enough for a road trip.
As things stand and if competition is anything to go by, every new introduction into this segment has to bring something unique to increase its changes. The Altroz will be banking on a unique exterior architecture and the availability of economic trims to turn things around.
