Audi’s New PB18 E-Tron
The Audi PB18 E-Tron was first exhibited at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance in September 2018. It is poised to be the the German marque’s unrestrained vision for what an all-electric racecar you can also drive on normal streets might look like.
There is so much uniqueness in this car that even Audi hasn’t bothered to give it much of a name: the PB18 is in reference to Pebble Beach, and the E-tron is simply Audi’s umbrella term for its electric cars.
The front section of the PB18 e-tron is reminiscent of just your usual coupé and there are some design similarities with Audi’s current supercar, the R8. Audi’s Singleframe grille is prominent in its hexagon shape, sitting in the middle and occupying a large amount of space.
Further down the hood,large inlets flank the grille in typical Audi fashion. And these inlets are meant to work hard; they take in cool air and directs it to the front electric motor and the brakes of the concept.
Some thin lights sit above the inlets. These light setups come with laser high-beams and are integrated digital matrix technology in what amounts to a showcase of home-grown technologies.
The PB18 has a short hood that doubles as an air deflector. Even in designs like this, Audi finds a way to increase its functionality making this some of the most juicy e stuff you will ever come across.
By the way, this is a relative big car. Measuring 14.5 feet long, 6.4 feet wide, and 4.6 tall, the PB18 e-tron is quite imposing for its class.
And there is even some more juicy right infront of the driver. The PB18’s windshield isn’t your typical glass.
It incorporates an augmented reality system, display information about the road ahead. This mighty end up being very useful when you’re on a race track because it can show the ideal racing line for you take.
As titillating as that looks and feels like, the seat and all the instruments can slide to offer to open up room for a passenger. The more you indulge in the PB18, the more confusing you get about its abilities. We are aware that the R8 is nearly exiting.
