The “Reboot Buggy ” By Designer Joey Ruiter

This Is The Ultimate Off-Roading Machine

Renowned car designer Joey Ruiter made a truly outstanding car that he named the Reboot Buggy. Initially, he meant to make a car without a driver as a way of challenging modern car design principles.

For his experiment, he plucked a V8-engine from a Chevrolet, and after fine-tuning the steel-tube chassis, Ruiter gave the car 40-inch wheels. It bears around 470hp and can hit up to 140 mph top speed.

For practical weight purposes, its swing doors are modeled from ballistic plastic. It is totally road legal and you can have it if you part with $115,000.

Even as you gape at the specs provided for this unique machine, it is important to bear in mind that its creator is a man who avoids conventionalism at all costs. From his base in Michigan, Ruiter says that it is his duty to think and “explore freely with real objects.”

Having drawn inspiration from the horseless carriages that graced several parts of the developed world in the late 19th century, the designer embarked on building a magnificent car that has no roof and lacks basic amenities. And Ruiter has an interesting way of justifying his focus on the good old days.

“These were off-road vehicles, [because] roads didn’t exist,” Ruiter says, “Those first paths, first lanes, and first trips make up our roads today. I kept the notion that a car should be able to get us there if there is a road or not.”
