The Grand Lotus Evora
This Is For The Show Stoppers
There are several great things that go along very well with being extraordinary in the auto industry. Being unique is a virtue that cannot be overemphasized. This is exactly how the Lotus Evora 400 got it right.
To start with it takes pride in its lightweight chassis of bonded aluminum, supple suspension, and mid-engine layout. To add some more juice, this quiet, submissive-looking car rides a supercharged 3.5-liter V-6 cranks out 400 hp; a six-speed manual is standard and a paddle-shifted six-speed automatic is optional. It is able to hit 0-to-60 time of 4.3 seconds and a top speed of 172 mph.
The Lotus 400 brings around three drive modes namely – Drive, Sport, and Race. It also takes pride in a really cool interior that still manages to be cool and simplistic.
We are talking of a simple leather steering wheel with thumb grips and a 12 o’clock marker. The bucket seats sit low offering an excellent driving position, although the front foot may somewhat impede leg space depending on the driver’s height.
To get to this point, Lotus has unfortunately chewed lots of frogs in terms of the challenges. There have been impediments of greater magnitude and this is, well ,some effort worth applauding.
With its wispy, strikingly well made, and communicative exterior and interior design, it’s a car for people who want to be engaged deeply by what they drive. It is for people who want spectators to have a second look and ask, “what’s that car?”
