Small but mighty in safety

Since the rise of clean energy movements, we’ve seen an enviable increase in automotive ideas that attempt to reduce the mess done by fossil fuels. It’s the most positive thing to come in the auto industry over the last couple of years.

In fact, that is the fuel behind companies such as Commuter Cars, which was founded by Rick Woodbury in Spokane Washington. Since 2005, this company has been producing small, bug-like electric vehicles that can fit in just about any parking space. Let us pick the Tango T600.

This vehicle is as small as a two-seater can be. It is only 101 inches long, 39 inches wide and has a height of 60 inches.

Inside, space is enough for two people to enjoy an interesting urbane ride on the two Sparco bucket seats that are arranged one behind the other. This car is granted the power to move by two electric motors that rotate the rear wheels.

A considerably heavy set of lithium-ion batteries lie underneath this small car and effectively give the Tango a center of gravity comparable to that of a Porsche 911. In the end, this car weighs 3,150 pounds, and the carbon fiber carries only 25 pounds of that.

Apparently, owing to the Prodrive-designed roll cage the T600 has overall protection that is four times that of larger SUVs. This makes one of the safest road cruisers of this era.

The Tango has been hailed for the milestones made so far and an attempt to rewrite EV history. With constant updates using finer technologies, it is bound to make a huge mark in the world of motoring.
