The GG50 Is A Special Dedication To A Legend

Renowned Ferrari designer Giorgetto Giugiaro had to this to say about the car built to celebrate fifty years of his contribution into the supercar world, “To mark 50 years of activity in the world of car design, I decided to sculpture a Ferrari to the memory of that great adventure and enjoy it with my family.”

And what a lovely thing it turned out to be?

The Ferrari F1 GG50 is specially modified using Formula 1 inspired specifications and more specifically to improve performance. It rides on a V12 naturally aspirated petrol engine.

This engine produces 540 horsepower. It utilizes a sequential mode of automatic transmission.

The GG50 is built upon the Ferrari 612 Scaglietti, and actually shares most of the basic mechanics. However, it is considerably shorter.

Giorgetto Giugiaro is a legend worth celebrating in a special way. He is the holder of the “Car Designer of the Century” title and is also listed in the prestigious Automotive Hall of Fame in which he entered at the age of 64. This is a special honor for many legends to enter into the “hall of fame” after their death or retirement, yet he was still in his peak.

He is accredited with outstanding creations including the BMW M1, De Tomaso Mangusta, DeLorean DMC-12, Iso Grifo, Maserati Ghibli and several more.
