SHERP ATV For Land, Snow, Ice, And Water Travel
The Truly All-Terrain Vehicle
There aren’t many things that Russians will do and fail to catch attention from politics to nuclear power and a lot more, Russians have a way to keep the world watching and listening closely. The SHERP ATV is a small amphibious automotive that uses self-inflated tires to do a lot of things.
It will climb over obstacles as tall as 27.5 inches, swim with ease, turn like a tank and still look awesome in any situation. Created by Alexei Garagashyan this stout automotive weighs just 2,866 pounds and can get as much as 44.3 horsepower from a 1.5 liter Kubota V1505 four-cylinder diesel.
The gearbox is a five-speed manual, that will get you 28 mph on land, or 3.7 mph in water, depending on the wind. It will also crawl at up to 9.3 mph in first gear.
With its giant custom tires and the skid-steer, it can also turn in its own length, which is 11 feet. And as long as the trees ahead are at least 8.2 feet apart, this crazy-looking two seater will easily crawl through.
The driver uses levers to steer, accelerate, and slow the machine down, while it can ‘skid steer’ completely on the spot. It still has plenty of room for equipment beneath the floor boards, with 170 liters of cargo space.
This is not the vehicle you buy for everyday work but it can be immensely useful for rescue missions and tackling tough environments.
