The Six-Wheeler Covini C6W Is Quite A Site To Behold

In the process of checking out what’s new and what’s hot in the vehicle industry, you cannot help but get carried away by some outlandish concepts. These are the kind of vehicles that veer of the ordinary to take a life of their own. The Covini C6W belongs to this unconventional.

The first thing that catches your attention on the Covini C6W is the six-wheel attached. You get to wonder why a two-seater coupe would need a whole six wheels for, and just before you are done, your attention turns to the spectacular design. Things are just starting to get quirky.

You have to understand that the Covini had to take a cue from the spectacular and heavily praised Tyrell P34 Formula One car of the seventies. The Tyrell happened to be just one of the F1 developments that toyed with the idea of four front wheels. However, a change of rules negated this possibility and these engineering dreams were shelved, at least for a while.

When the Covini C6W finally rolled out of production line, it was branded “the most outlandish performance car that man has ever dared to manufacture.” Carrying a very capable 4.2 liter Audi V8 from Gumpert Apollo, this spectacular machine promised 434 hp.

There is a little argument of the numerous capabilities brought by six wheels. Better braking and cornering are just some of them, and the fact that the Covini weighs just enough to keep it on the ground is an additional engineering feat.
