What Happened To The Spanish Tramontana XTR

A Concept That Seemed Ready To Face Whatever Life Brought About

Each XTR promised to be an outstanding drive to suit individual customer needs.

The carbon-fiber body keeps the weight in check, weighing just 2,900 pounds. It carries a massive Mercedes V12 mid-engine that produces 720 horsepower. Mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission, this car is made to do some amazing tricks.

The car built by Spanish manufacturer Atelier Tramontana was launched back in 2005 at the Geneva Motor Show. From the onset, this car aimed at breaking conventional approaches and doing its stuff from a very different approach.

This is well articulated in the design and configuration. To ensure that it comes out with maximum pomp and oomph the company said it would only be producing six of them each year.

The specs on this car also sound nice and attractive. It rides on a twin-turbo engine donated by Mercedes and able to garner 875bhp. The V12 engine that takes 5.5-liter of juice is fixed on the lightweight chassis.

In as much as we’ve seen lots of automakers coming out to make an attempt on the supercars, only a handful make it past the rigorous processes and expenses to make it to production. To a good extent, the auto industry requires a high level of resilience and market understanding for an investor to profit handsomely.

For a long time, nothing much has been heard of and from the Tramontana brand, even though back then it looked ready to overcome many hurdles.
