The idea, according to the manufacturer was to have Volkswagen as the owner as opposed to passing it to individual owners. How that would work is meant to work still very theoretical but in these days of taxi-hailing that is not a far fetched idea.

Sedric is an exceptionally independent car that lacks a steering wheel, has no pedals, and moves away from conventional cockpit controls and instruments. According to Volkswagen, this allows “a completely new sense of well-being in the vehicle—a welcome home feeling.” It is in this car that you truly witness the use of the essence of voice commands.

There is a disruption taking place in the auto world and it isn’t silent in any way. It is being fronted by both small and large automakers. It is ultimately good for the public.
