Single Seat EV Car Named “Solo” Has Over 5,000 Pre-Orders

Whatever is happening in the EV world is nothing short of a revolution. We are seeing from all corners of the world, amazingly interesting ideas that will no doubt the auto industry going forward.

One of the latest ideas to grace our world recently is the small single seat car named the ‘Solo’, made by Vancouver-based Electra Meccanica. When it hits the market sometime later in the year it will be retailing for about $15,500.

Reliable reports indicate that it has has been pre-ordered by about 70,000 people in the USA. The tiny car, which holds just the driver, has a charging range of 100 miles (160 kilometers) and a top speed of 82 mph (130 kph).

It takes three hours to fully charge and can go from 0-60 mph in eight seconds. Of course, it is the kind of car that gives you no headache as far as parking is concerned. It is also compatible with universal charging points.

It is the kind of car that one might actually add to their collection either for the fun of it or for its practicality in regards to city mobility. One observer said, “It seems like it’s actually a vehicle that you need in addition to your regular vehicle.”

Although Electra Meccanica is estimated to have a market value of just $140 million, it is boasting around $2.4 billion in pre-orders.
