The Outstanding Hydrogen-Powered Toyota Mirai

The Future Is Here, Packed Into A Cool Car

There is no argument that what makes the Toyota Mirai a special car globally is that is a hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicle (FCEV). This has all the futuristic considerations in mind.

Mirai means “future” in Japanese, and the exterior of the car reflects its inspirational nature. The futuristic aerodynamic lines of Mirai shout out that it is the rogue of the family, the non-conformist among equals. It looks little more like a Prius.

Whereas the exterior is normal enough to blend in, a closer look, shows an outstanding piece work. Lots of lights in the across the rear of the vehicle accentuates and blends well giving the vehicle some some more creativity.

The interior of Mirai is very functional and has all the features drivers need. The speedometer and driving displays are positioned farther up on the dash, just below the transition to the road.

The company explains that this is to help keep an eye on critical vehicle functions while driving without the need to glance down at a traditional behind-the-wheel gauge cluster. Infotainment and climate controls are also simple and functional, wrapped in a package that’s clearly futuristic.

Mirai’s two hydrogen tanks provide for an EPA-estimated 312 miles of range that is more than sufficient for those living near a hydrogen fueling station. Of course there is a limitation when you must be tied to a live close to a hydrogen fueling station but this is little harm as we expect such to be the future.
