Renault Koleos: Bravely Invading Into SUV Space

Renault Koleos SUV Hope To Match Up With Competitors

The Renault Koleos SUV has come at a time when the market is readier and easily accepts anything large enough and pocket friendly. It will be sparring with others in this series including Kia Sorento, Ford Edge, Hyundai Santa Fe and Nissan X-Trail all contesting for a lot of attention.

While you look at it you must not leave the thought of the Nissan X-Trail behind for it is based on the Nissan. However, there is a lot of unique styling, specifications and trims just to make sure that you can easily choose between the Nissan and Renault.

Since the Renault Kadja also comes close in looks and size, the large interior of the Koleos (565-liter trunk) helps to differentiate them. In fact, Renault has been keen to concentrate on extra passenger space and range-topping comfort.

Garnering a mild 175 bhp, the 2.0-liter diesel is quite a more powerful and comes with front or four-wheel drive. Fuel economy is 44.1 – 45.6 mpg, while the Koleos emits 163 g/km (front-wheel drive) or 168 g/km (four-wheel drive) of CO2.

Performance might be average at best considering that it hits 0-62 mph in around 10 seconds. The CVT automatic is also quite good for its class.

Standard equipment includes a 7-inch touchscreen featuring sat-nav and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, rear parking sensors and a reversing camera, an opening panoramic sunroof and 18-inch alloy wheels. On top of that, Signature cars get an upgraded 8.7-inch touchscreen, LED headlamps and part-leather upholstery with heated front seats.

The Initiale Paris features a host of luxury kit, including 19-inch wheels, two-tone nappa leather, and a Bose stereo. Will the Koleos be able to distinguish amidst growing class competition? Only time will tell.
